Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is a first-person shooter video game in the Battlefield series, developed by Digital Illusions CE. Modern Combat is the first Battlefield game for video game consoles.

The game was initially released for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 on October 25, 2005 in North America. On April 11, 2006, an updated version of the game was released for the Xbox 360 featuring improved graphics and online features. A PlayStation Portable version was announced in 2005, but was cancelled. Instead, DICE developed Battlefield: Bad Company for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Plot

The single player campaign game revolves around a fictional war between the NATO and China that takes place in Kazakhstan. The media on both sides air propaganda that accuses the other of war crimes while the player fights for each nation back and forth. When the player eventually chooses a side to lead to victory, it is revealed that a terrorist organization called Burning Flag is responsible for misleading both NATO and China into starting the war. The winning side must then stop Burning Flag’s leader, Commander 31, from launching 3 nuclear ICBMs at the United States and Europe and China. After he is defeated, the war is officially over.

Batman Begins (video game)

Batman Begins is a 2005 video game based on the film of the same name.[2] It was released June 14, 2005, a day before the 2005 American superhero film was released. It was developed by Eurocom and published by Electronic Arts in conjunction with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics. It was released on Xbox, PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance.

Gameplay

The game has a unique system involving intimidation. Whereas most superhero games require straightforward fighting, Batman Begins features the utilization of the environment to frighten opponents. Certain gadgets designed to frighten enemies during combat are provided, such as smoke grenades, flash bang grenades, and an ‘HF Transponder’, which summons bats to gather around and incapacitate enemies with fear. On top of this is traditional stealth gameplay reminiscent of the Splinter Cell series (this probably due to the fact that the game was written by Splinter Cell creator JT Petty), such as sneaking and taking out enemies from behind. There are many ways to incapacitate enemies with stealth, using various combat and martial arts techniques. Continue reading ‘Batman Begins (video game)’
